Regulated Garbage Disposal Service:
Heres how it works
| |
Purchase specially-marked wet garbage bags at the marina office and
retain your receipts. All handling, processing and disposal fees are included in
the price of the bag. Separate out any dry trash items (paper goods, etc., that
may be placed in standard heavy-duty trash bags and deposited into the marinas
dumpsters) and place only regulated garbage items in the bag, taking
care not to overfill, then close properly.
Remember that any garbage commingled with regulated garbage is also
considered regulated garbage, so plan your onboard storage accordingly.
|
|
| |
Contact the marina office to schedule bag pickup. Retain the bag aboard
down below, or well inside any deck railings until marina personnel
remove it in a specially-marked leak-proof bin. Under no circumstances may the bag
be placed on the dock, deposited into a marina dumpster, or any other location on
St. Thomas.
|
|
| |
Make a notation in your vessels port log book of the bags removal
and file your receipts for disposal services received from the marina
office.
|
|
| |
Trained marina personnel supervise the bags removal to an enclosed disposal
facility within the Crown Bay Marina property with an incinerator that is certified
to burn regulated garbage to ash.

Garbage Disposal Log Book
Crown Bay Marinas strict adherence to the conditions of its USDA/APHIS/PPQ
Compliance Agreement (that authorizes the marina to engage in the business of
handling and disposing of regulated garbage) requires that the marina maintain
APHIS-accessible records tracking each bag from its point-of-purchase at
the marina office, to its pickup aboard your vessel by marina personnel, and
transport to the disposal facility for disposal via incineration.
Information detailed in our marina log book includes:
| |
Name of vessel
|
| |
Date bag purchased
|
| |
Bag number
|
| |
Date bag removed from vessel by marina personnel for
incineration
